Red-shirt junior Craig Chaput was named MAAC Pitcher of the Week today. Chaput won his third straight decision on Thursday against Marist, helping the Saints clinch a spot in the MAAC Championship for the first time since 2005.

Chaput (Ottawa, Ontario, Canada) pitched 7.1 innings, and allowed just six hits and one run - an eighth inning solo home run. Chaput struck out seven and walked just two. He has allowed just three earned runs in his last 30.1 innings of work entering the championship.

Chaput and the Saints begin their quest for a MAAC Championship against #2 seed Manhattan on Thursday at 2 p.m. at Waterfront Park in Trenton, N.J. Chaput will likely start the game.
