Clint McAuley enteres his first year as the pitching coach at Siena College. McAuley will also serve as the recruiting coordinator. "We are very fortunate to have Clint on board to run our pitching unit," coach Rossi said. "He came from an outstanding program where he had much success and I know he's going to do a great job for our program." McAuley most recently served as pitching coach at Louisiana State University at Eunice, where he helped guide the Bengals to a national championship. Under McAuley's guidance, the pitching corps posted a school record 2.07 ERA, including 465 strikeouts Prior to his stay at Eunice, McAuley was an assistant coach at East Texas Baptist University, where he worked with the catchers and served as head coach of the JV squad. A native of Winnsboro, Texas, McAuley played for ETBU, where he led the American Southwest Conference in doubles as a sophomore and was third in the conference in home runs that same season. McAuley was recognized by the conference as All-ASC East Division and was named honorable mention NCCAA All-American. McAuley completed his career at ETBU as the eighth ranked player in school history with a .367 batting average. McAuley was also a pitcher for the Tigers, posting a career ERA of 2.35 before transferring to Texas Tech University a year later. McAuley graduated from Texas Tech with a degree in history. He also holds a Master's degree in sports management from the United States Sports Academy. McAuley's previous coaching positions included a stint with the Bluff City Bombers of the Central Illinois Collegiate League. The Bombers captured a CICL title under his guidance in 2004. McAuley was also a volunteer assistant at Lubbock Monterey High School and the head coach of a Connie Mack team that earned a berth in the Connie Mack State Championship Tournament. McAuley will assist Rossi in a variety of roles, mainly serving as the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator. |
