Siena Women Finish Fourteenth, Men Seventeenth at UAlbany Cross Country Invitational

Loudonville, N.Y. - The Siena women's cross country team placed fourteenth while the men took home seventeenth place at the 41st annual UAlbany Cross Country Invitational this afternoon. Freshman Brina Seguine led all Siena women's competitors finishing 38th overall with a time of 18:44.9 in the 5000 meter championship race, while sophomore Jed Turnbull ran a time of 27:02.3 to lead the Siena men, finishing 74th individually in the 8000 meter championship race. Harvard swept the day, capturing titles in both the men's and women's races while RIT finished a close second in the men's championship and Brown took home runner-up honors in the women's competition. Sophomore Andrea Hollinger (18:56.8) finished just behind Seguine in the women's championship, while Carly Calergo (19:40.2), Samantha Grady (20:03.9) and Casey Morelli (20:12.7) rounded out the Saints top five finishers. Meanwhile on the men's side, Darren Legere ran step for step with Turnbull, turning in a solid time of 27:12.5, while Ryan Donnelly (28:00.4), John Hart (28:03.5) and John Farley (28:20.0) marked the Saints top competitors.
The Saints will be back in action next Saturday for the Central Connecticut Invitational. The race will commence at 10 a.m. |
